Kindler, published by Heinz Ludwig Arnold, covers over 21,500 entries on the most important works that have had a lasting impact on the history of culture, from the first written records of humanity to the present, representing 13,000 works of roughly 8,000 authors, 500 anonymous works and 150 materials. The new edition has been expanded in particular to include South/South-East Asian, Indian, African and East European literature and has been opened up for major works of nonfiction in numerous fields. Roughly 8,000 biograms provide brief biographical information on the authors.
